Over the millions of years, the world has witnessed the birth of rituals and religions when early humans sought refuge in a ‘higher being’ to protect them from the earthly calamities and disasters. We have also witnessed the rise and demise of numerous religions, some of which have vanished entirely from the face of earth. Today we live in a world where religions are increasingly becoming hierarchical and drifting away from spirituality while attempting to consolidate their position among followers. The impact is evident among the waning interest in religions among the new generations and their increasing pursuit of spirituality elsewhere. Are we about to witness the death of more religions? To be or not to be religious is fast becoming the crucial paradox of a progressive world.
