Summary of the Book The story explores Tom’s good nature as opposed to his promiscuity. Tom Jones was abandoned as a child and found by Squire Allworthy, a kind and wealthy landowner. He grows up to be a charming man who has a weakness for pretty young women. However, he is very kind and generous. He has fallen in love with Sophie Western, his neighbour’s daughter. However, since he is known to everyone as a bastard, Sophia’s father is against his daughter having anything to do with Tom. Will Tom change his flirtatious ways in order to be accepted by Sophia? About Henry Fielding Henry Fielding was an English novelist and dramatist known for his novel, Tom Jones. He has also earned himself a significant place in the history of law-enforcement.
