The 8900 was introduced by Tombow in 1945 as the follow up to their first premium pencil, the 8800. More than 70 years later and many new products later, the historic 8900 is Tombow's base-level writing pencil and is of excellent quality for everyday tasks or as an intro to Japanese pencils.
