To prevent the lead from extending in your pocket or pencil case, you can lock the shaker mechanism by pushing up on the clip. The clip also acts as a conventional click mechanism, letting you extend the lead by pushing it down. A transparent gray grip area lets you see the pencil's inner workings. A long guide pipe gives you a better view of where you're writing or drawing. The popular Tombow Mono eraser is installed at the top with a convenient twist mechanism and usable length of approximately 0.7 inches (1.8 cm).
