This 3 volume book is a collection of the list of inscription published by the Department of Epigraphy in the then Presidency of Madras. The first volume gives the list in the districts of Anantapur, North Arcot, South Arcort, Bellary, Chingleput, Chittor, Coimbatore, Cuddapah and Ganjam. Volume 2 lists the districts of Godavari, Guntur S.Kanara, Kistna, Kurnool, Madras, Madura, Malabar, Nellore, Ramnad Salem and Tanjore. Columme 3 lists Tinnevelly, Trichinopoly, Pudukkottah, Vizagapatom, Cochin, the French Territory, Travancore and the inscriptions in the British Museum. At the end of this volume a dynastic analysis is given. This book is a reprint of the 1917 edition.
