It can strengthen local economies, and promote and enhance local identities andcultural heritage to the benefit of future generations, and to build mutual understandingand tolerance between people in a stable and equitable world. Growing an economically,environmentally as well as socially sustainable tourism and hospitality sector can play ameaningful role to stimulate growth, create jobs, develop infrastructure and rural economies,promote trade, alleviate poverty, and particularly facilitate development in the least developedand emerging economies.Employment in the tourism and hospitality industry should include not only job creationbut it should ensure decent and productive work in sustainable enterprises through nationaland local tourism development strategies, new tourism products and services, with a highlabour content, a high labour multiplying impact and a high level of sustainability. Allstakeholders should collaborate in order to improve employment regulations and workingconditions in tourism and hospitality industry.
