Transmission and Distribution has been written as per the new Choice Based Credit System. Electric power transmission and distribution systems are undergoing dramatic changes today. With the penetration of renewable energy sources, distribution networks will have to be redesigned to accommodate power sources along with the loads. However, it is necessary for an undergraduate student to understand the basic concepts in transmission and distribution. Student should be able to a) apply the concepts of circuit theory and electromagnetic field theory to derive transmission line parameters, apply circuit concepts to design distribution networks and understand the effects of corona, wind, ice etc on the performance of the system.This books has been written in a simple style, to facilitate the teacher to present the contents in a simple manner.
