Education is a very important aspect of the lives of all over the world. In an age of rapid change due to advancement of science and technology, urbanization, modernization, globalization and sanskritization a revolutionary change in the educational system is as vital as what our next energy source is. The problems of education system in India are of grave concern and this concern has not been ignored. Current trends, issues and challenges in Education in a country like India is some extent different than other countries and global perspective. Since independence, government of India is trying to bring a lot of changes by making various policies in Education and Economic sector for sustainable development in Education. Complexities and problem of education is in a continuous flux. Therefore the author edited the volume keeping in view the changing scenario of our education system. This edited volume entitles " Trends and Issues in Education "attempts to cover the various issues related to education in Indian context. I hope this volume will be beneficial for the students, teachers, teacher educators, stakeholders and policy makers to understand various emerging issues and concern in the field of education.
