Venom rears his ugly head and Spidey has to fight him off in Ultimate Spider-Man Volume 6: Venom. Summary of the Book When Peter Parker finds some of his father’s scientific work and a tape of his family, he is reminded of his childhood pal Eddie Brock. He contacts Brock, trying to rekindle their friendship. Eddie is at college and he shows Peter their fathers’ old project, something they called “The Suit”. Peter listens to one of his father’s tapes which tells him that the project was related to a medical breakthrough. He sneaks into Eddie’s lab and examines the substance, but gets some of it on his skin by accident. The Suit takes over Peter’s body and turns into a black version of his Spider-Man costume. Peter embraces the suit and discovers that it grants him a tremendous increase in his usual powers. He doesn’t need to use web-shooters anymore and his strength and Spider-Sense have increased many times over. However, the Suit comes with a price. It is slowly eating away at his better judgment and giving him a lust for violence. If he doesn’t give it up soon, he may lose control and turn into the very monsters he fights. Yet, upon giving it up, he might help raise a much more terrifying monster, one that will continue to haunt him forever: the terrifying Venom!
