Undertow is a young-adult novel written by Joanna Nadin. Summary of the Book Sixteen-year-old Billie Paradise inherits her grandmother’s house, and she and her family move from London to the new house by the sea. But what seemed like an exciting change soon turns out to be scary and chaotic. Billie finds out that people may have to die, as her mother’s childhood home unveils buried secrets, and the past seems to live forever. About Joanna Nadin Joanna Nadin is an English author of teen and children’s fiction. Some of her notable works are the Rachel Riley series, Wonderland, and Paradise. She has won the Fantastic Book Award given by Lancashire School Library Service, and was shortlisted for the Queen of Teen award twice, among other accolades. She has previously worked as a policy writer for the Labour Party, and had become a special adviser to Tony Blair in 2001. Her work, Penny Dreadful is a Magnet for Disaster, was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2011.
