Using STAAD Pro 2007: Courseware With American Design Codes is a book that provides the readers with in-depth insight into the STAAD Pro 2007 software, and its numerous features. This book contains step-by-step instructions into structural analysis and design of concrete, and steel buildings. In this book, the readers are guided into creating geometry by utilizing different techniques, some of which are highly advanced. In total, there are 10 chapters in this book, and they include Introduction To STAAD Pro, Useful Function To Complete The Geometry, Constants, Supports, And Specifications Module, Properties Module, Loading Module, Concrete Design Module, Post Processing Module, Analysis Module, and Steel Design. At the beginning of this book, the readers are given a brief history of STAAD Pro, and the basics of opening, closing, saving, and creating new files using the software. This book also throws light on beams, plates, and nodes, and ways to add beams, and connect them along an axis. Through the course of this book, the author also covers the local, and global coordinate system, geometrical constants, material constants, creating manual combinations, creating automatic combinations, performing the analysis command, and the P-Delta analysis command. The readers are also provided insight into creating slabs, members, briefs, groups, and envelopes. Additionally, the author also throws light on analyzing a model by making use of the appropriate Analysis method. About Munir Hamad Munir Hamad is an author, and AutoCAD trainer. Apart from this book, Hamad has written Using STAAD Pro 2006: Courseware With American Design Codes, AutoCAD 2011: 3D Modeling Essentials, AutoCAD 2014 Beginning and Intermediate, and MS Project 2010 Fundamentals. Hamad completed his degree in Civil Engineering from the College of Engineering & Petroleum, Kuwait University. He began working at Al-Manahel Computer Services Center in 1991. In 2002, he was awarded a Master’s Certification by scoring 4.66 out of 5.0 in the AutoCAD 2000 exam by Autodesk. He has a great deal of experience working with a number of engineering software such as Primavera, Architectural Desktop, Rasterex, BidWorx, and STAAD. Hamad is now an Autodesk Approved Instructor, responsible for seven courses in AutoCAD.
