Lakshmi Mata, also known simply as Lakshmi, is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity, light, wisdom, and fortune. She is one of the most widely revered deities in Hinduism and is often depicted as a beautiful woman with four arms, sitting or standing on a lotus flower, holding a pot of gold coins, and surrounded by elephants or other symbols of abundance. Lakshmi is also considered the consort of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, who is the protector of the universe. She is often depicted as accompanying Vishnu in his various incarnations, and they together represent the balance of wealth and dharma (righteousness). Diwali (Deepavali): Lakshmi Puja, the worship of Lakshmi, is one of the central aspects of Diwali, the festival of lights. During this time, devotees clean their homes, decorate with lights, and offer prayers to Lakshmi, seeking her blessings for prosperity in the coming year.
