Lord Rama’s journey is a story that every Hindu child would have heard at least once. The Ramayana is an integral part of history and those who read it will learn a lot about relationships and the responsibilities that comes with it. Summary of the Book Valmiki Ramayana is the story of the Rama of Ayodhya who spent fourteen years in exile and fought several battles. He had chosen the path of righteousness and the choices he made in life were in accordance to this. The story brings to light some very important aspects of life like the burden of kinship, honour and duty, and social needs. The most important was the concept of Dharma that remained a central part of the story throughout. The Ramayana is enjoyed by many and has been a major influence on Sanskrit poetry and Indian culture. About Rajendra Tandon Rajendra Tandon is a scholar by temperament and has studied Sanskrit, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Mathematics and Physics. Some of his interests are Indian history, Indian miniature painting, astronomy, fine arts and classical music. Tandon is also very fond of homoeopathy and believes in alternative healing treatments. The author has a Master’s degree in English literature. He even has a degree in law and was a member of the Indian Revenue Service for some time.
