Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863 in Kolkata, West Bengal. He has written other books such as Karma Yoga and Lectures from Colombo to Almora (1897). His original name was Narendra Nath Datta, and he was born in a noble family. Swami became a disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and attended the World Congress of Religions at Chicago, where he delivered his world famous speech. He died on July 4, 1902, in Belur Math near Kolkata.
