There are many answered deaths in world history. Veerappan's death was one such.. STF announced that Veerappan was killed in action through an ambush in Pachinampatti, Darmapuri District. Salem Maoist sympathiser Haribabu formed a Truth Finding Committee brushing aside the STF version. Lawyers, Professors, Writers, Human Right Activists were all part of it. The committee report concluded that Veerappan was poisoned. Many thought that the committee was formed to bring out the truth but on contrary it was formed to bury the truth. From 2015, I am gathering the events in the life of Veerappan. I was practically stonewalled in every direction I took in the effort of knowing his final days. I had an experience of 25 years as a journalist, and I had made friends with many senior police officers. I contacted them and on top of it I had heard the story of Veerappan from himself, so I set to explore intensely on pretext of writing this book. Going through this book you may know that the credentials of Tamil Nadu Police is far ahead of Scotland Yard and at the same time you cannot miss the fact that how Tamil Nadu police officers exceled the art of storytelling and writing.
