The substance of 4 years of travel from 1802-1806 by the author who was from the British isles. This book is mine of information on the place he visited; it is rich in descriptions and narrative. The author faithfully recounts all that he saw and experienced while on his travels. The customs of the people, the state of towns and the villages, the religion and rituals, the trade and commerce, snippets of history : all these and more are packed into this large work of 4 volumes, in which 3 volumes give the narrative and the fourth volume is a larger book which contains numerous illustrations, charts and maps.
