What Happened to Goodbye is a story about Mclean, a girl who lets go of her identity after her parents separate, as she isn't too keen on being Mclean.  Summary of the Book It wasn’t easy for Mclean when her mother’s affair became a scandal that resulted in her and her dad going away to live a separate life. Mclean has no desire to form any close relationships with people as her mother’s actions have hurt her deeply. With every place she moves to, she has gone by different names with no intention to use her own anytime soon. She soon meets Dave, her new neighbour and everything changes. He is very unlike most people Mclean knows and she now goes by her own name. Will she stop her habit of changing names or will she walk away without saying goodbye to the one she loves?
