This book deals with the most tumultuous years of Sri Lanka�s post-colonial history. It is an extraordinary blend of fiction and history. The author with an array of academic distinctions in multiple fields deals with the subject with a display of rare erudition. A master of many languages and a confirmed globe-trotter for whom the world is his home, he approaches the subject without bias or prejudice.
