In 2011, a song adaptation of this book was also done by Stevie Nicks. About Jean Rhys Jean Rhys was a renowned writer who hailed from Roseau, Dominica. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the year 1909, but was forced to leave, as she was unable to speak "proper English". Some of the other works published by Rhys include: The Left Bank and Other Stories, Voyage in the Dark, Tigers are Better-Looking: With a Selection from ‘The Left Bank’, Sleep it Off Lady, and Good Morning, Midnight. She passed away in 1979, before finishing her autobiography.
