About the book:‘We live in deeds, not years; in thoughts, not breaths, in feelings, not in figures on a dial. We should count time by heart-throbs. He most lives, who thinks most, Feels the noblest, acts the best.’ These lines appropriately define William Wordsworth, his character and the way he lived. Wordsworth enlightened us through his fantabulous insight into World, God and Nature. For him everything was the expression of same fact in the divine thought. Along the line of every ray he looked towards its radiating Centre — ‘the heart of the maker’. William Wordsworth was a poet with moral excellence and profound wisdom. We turn to other poets either for amusement or for intellectual stimulus but we turn to Wordsworth for moral and spiritual consolation. So for him it must be said that his’ words’ are ‘worth’ worshiping. He leaves us a Poetry of Celebration in which consciousness reaches new heights and nature is given a new meaning. He remains a revolutionary poet, one whose concerns are not out of place in our eco-sensitive age. He will always be read with profit, as his poetry is the repository of a rare genius, and marvelous vision. And behind this book the intention is to explore this ‘philosophical Wordsworth’.
