This student edition also includes special exercises for students to solve. About The Authors Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam is a nuclear scientist, author, and former Indian president. His other published books include My Journey: Transforming Dreams Into Actions, Turning Points: A Journey Through Challenges, India 2020: A Vision For The New Millennium, and Ignited Minds: Unleashing The Power Within India. Abdul Kalam was born in 1931. He completed his schooling from Rameshwaram Elementary School, after which he attended St. Joseph’s College in Tiruchirappalli. He then enrolled in Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai, for aerospace engineering. Kalam started his career at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He later joined ISRO and was instrumental in establishing the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. Kalam was elected as the 11th President of India in 2002. He has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and also the Bharat Ratna by the government of India for his contribution to India’s scientific research and modernisation of the country’s defence technology. Arun Tiwari is a former missile scientist and a non-medical professional in modern health care. Tiwari has previously worked under Abdul Kalam. He is currently the director of the Cardiovascular Technology Institute at Hyderabad. He was awarded the Defence Technology Spin-Off Award for his role in the development of an indigenous coronary stent called as the Kalam-Raju stent.
