Rudraksha is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the name Rudra ("Shiva") and aksha ("eye").  Rudraksha grows in the area from the Gangetic Plain in foothills of the Himalayas to South-East Asia and Indonesia.  Around 70% of the Rudraksha trees are found in Indonesia, 25% in Nepal and 5% in India Rudraksha seeds are covered by an outer shell of blue color when fully ripe, and for this reason are also known as blueberry beads. Rudraksha beads are botanically known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb. Rudraksha beads have long historical values in Hindu religion. Different mukhi Rudraksha represent different Gods such as Lord Surya, Hanuman, Vishnu, Brahma, Durga, Kartikaya and of course Lord Shiva himself. One who wears Rudraksha get blessings of all of them. Rudraksha beads never give negative energies and there is no harm in wearing them.
