A Love Story for My Sister, by Jaishree Misra, weaves an intriguing tale of danger and ferocity and the incredible human capacity for hope. Summary of the Book The 18-year-old daughter of General Wheeler, Margaret, is kidnapped during the uprising in 1857. Another 18-year-old schoolgirl from Delhi, Tara Fernandez, is abducted and murdered in 1997. The two crimes of passion are bound by bizarre similarities, although they are separated by 140 years. Pia, the younger sister of Tara, wants to become a novelist. She is investigating Margaret’s case and learns that the victim had Stockholm Syndrome. After discovering Margaret’s letters and journals, Pia begins to understand how the woman might have fallen in love with her own captor.
