Labour is a vast term which brings varied illustrations in our minds. Headload workers are one of the most unsung labourers. A head-load worker is a person who carries the entire burden on his shoulder, be it the weight of the sack or the burden of supporting his family. Headload workers are unorganized people engaged in physical labour. During this process, they may face a lot of exploitation at the hands of the employers, contractors, middle-men, organizations and others in general. They may not receive the wages on the promised date and time or they may be discriminated based on their caste, creed, sex, religion, etc for the terms of their employment. This book tries to explore some important aspects of the aforementioned acts prevalent in Kerala and Maharashtra. This study also tries to foresee, how the implementation of an act which consists of the best elements of the both the earlier mentioned acts, in the state of Karnataka would be advantageous or disadvantageous to the headload workers in Bengaluru.
