The orange plant , scientifically known as Citrus sinensis ,is a small to to medium -sized evergreen tree to shrub .It typically grows to about 20-30 feet (6-9)meters in height .The tree has glossy ,dark green leaves that are lance -shaped and can be quite aromatic.White fragrant blossoms appear in clusters and are followed by the fruit. The fruit or orange ,is round and usually ranges in color from bright orange to yellowish -orange when ripe .The skin of the orange is thick and pebbly ,while the inner flesh is segmented ,juicy and sweet or tangy depending on the variety .Oranges are commonly used for their juice and as a fresh fruit ,and the tree is cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions around the world.
