With a strong focus on medical-surgical content, this text avoids the repetitive content found in other core nursing texts and emphasizes a comprehensive, contemporary approach to nursing management of the adult patient with a medical-surgical disorder. Content is presented in a format that gives equal attention to nursing management and associated pathophysiology of the disorder. In addition to care of the patient in the traditional medical-surgical setting, the scope of care has been broadened to encompass home care, long-term care, and rehabilitation. Targeted at the AND and BSN levels, its many boxed features and learning aids facilitate student understanding and application of a broad base of medical-surgical nursing care.
