'Commonwealth poetry' is an old nomenclature for which, now, we usethe word 'post-colonial'. The present anthology of poems, is animprovement over the erstwhile published book An Anthology ofCommonwealth Poetry edited by C.D. Narasimaiah. Really theanthology is impressive for its elaborate country-wise introductions butit is, now, old if not outdated. There is a dire need for a simpler and bettertext to be used in the classroom of post-graduate students. Hence, thepresent attempt of updating the knowledge, has been made, not in a truesense, the same book but with some necessary slight modifications. Thepresent book is called An Anthology of Post-Colonial Poetry thatincludes 'colonial' poetry ' also. Glossary is added to biographicalintroductions wherever it is necessary.
