Upasana Gupta’s And The Reason is You deals with Khushi and her adolescent problems of love, peer pressure and the internet.  Summary of The Book And The Reason is You by Upasana Gupta is a new age novel that deals with the biggest boon and bane in any youngster’s life - the internet. The book features the protagonist Khushi who has just appeared for her medical entrance exams. While waiting for the results to be published, Khushi spends her time online. Chatting becomes a new obsession for her and in the process she comes across Sparsh. Sparks fly between the two as they spend hours chatting with each other. However good looking and smart Sparsh is, he comes from a poor background and this would prove to be a hurdle later on. Nonetheless, the two hit it off and fall in love despite not meeting each other. This love story encounters obstacles in the form of Khushi’s parents. Her marriage is already arranged with someone else and they reject Sparsh instantly. As the novel progresses, the reader will understand that it is not a typical boy-meets-girl love story. The issues mentioned are dealt with in a realistic manner. What happens to Sparsh and Khushi? Does she marry the love of her life?
