Right understanding of the history of mankind, Indian culture, religion, philosophy, science and lifestyle is possible only through the study of Vedas. Veda is the lamp of human welfare, that is why the liberal sages made many efforts to preserve it. Shad Vedangas and index literature were created by the sages for the preservation of the Veda mantras, possible removal, change and upanayana of the defects in the form of projection. In the indexes, each mantra of the samhitas, one letter each, the verses of the deity, the sage etc. Not only this, the symbol (initial) of each hymn, the number of its mantras, the verse text, the alphabet, the deity, the name of the sage, the gotra and the details of the stories received in the context are also found in these indexes. The indexes are the criterion of the authenticity of the available text of the Vedas. Their perusal shows that even in ancient times, the elements like voice, action, verses, sage, deity etc. were discussed in detail. On the principle of these indexes, texts like "Vedic Concordance" and "Vedic Hierarchy Kosha" were composed in the modern era. The literal meaning of index is - organized, ordered, subject-book, table or list. In this way, index literature refers to the systematic, scientific micro-dissection of the various parts of ancient Vedic literature and the texts that make all the related subjects understandable. In the present book, a comprehensive discussion and evaluation of the subjects propounded in various indexes has been done. The publication of this Grantha Ratna will fill the gap being experienced in the study of Vedas.
