Kala Namak Rice Paddy is commonly known as Buddha Rice Paddy. It is Dwarf (Bauni ) kala namak of paddy (Pusa Narendra Kalanamak 1638) with black husk but has white rice with a strong aroma similar to desi ghee (Fragrance feel can vary individually). It is considered a gift from Lord Buddha to the people of the Shravasti. This paddy crop matures in approximately 140-150 days. In terms of its distinct characteristics, demand, and delicacy, growing organically makes this crop more authentic and precious. As a result, instead of using any chemical fertiliser, Jibamrit, vermicompost, and biofertiliser should be used as crop nutrients. It produces 18-20 quintal per acre on average. Kala Namak Rice is mostly consumed after it has been cooked into rice or kheer. Rice flour, suji, syrup, beer, wine, cake, bread, ladoo, and other sweetened foods and cosmetics are some of the value added products that can be made through kala namak rice.
