Barnyard Seed can be sown in the first fortnight of July with the onset of monsoon rains. Seed can be broadcast or drilled in furrows at a rate of 8–10 kg per hectare. The plant grows up to a height of 60 to 120 centimeters. Crops mature in 75 to 95 days. approx. 6 qtl to 10 qtl per hectare.
