The Ganesh and Laxmiji are worshipped in almost every Hindu Household and workplaces to bring success and prosperity Ganesh is considered the God of Wisdom and Laxmi pooja is done to get wisdom along with wealth. Because without wisdom, wealth can't stay longer with you. Having wealth is a good thing only when we have the knowledge of use it properly.
