Best Practices for School Improvement: Research Based Approaches reviews significant educational reforms--including "best Practices"--and links these reforms to needs in global education. The purpose of the book is to stimulate discussion among educators about ways education might benefit from global educational research and to encourage schools to implement changes resulting in improvement. As far as India is concerned, schools and educators have a rich history and tradition of excellence. This book is designed to suggest new ideas and to encourage administrators to continue their good work while considering updates based on current research. School leaders, including heads, administrators, governing boards, and teachers are the target readership for the book. In addition, it could be profitably used in teacher training, both at the college and university level and in staff development. In India, the book should appeal to those who are interested in keeping the "genius" of Indian education, and at the same time, opening it to new ideas and research-driven strategies. University courses in educational leadership as well as local programmers to improve education could use this book as a basis for discussion. About the Author Dr. Katherine C.
