Aster - Princess Multicolor Mix. Annual. Full sun/partial shade. Grows 20 inches tall. Upright but compact. Produces a lot of flowers. Good for flowerbeds and cut flowers. A mix of purple, pink, fuchsia, and white quilled or flat double petaled beauties. The Princess Mix Aster is a sophisticated addition to cut flower arrangements or the annual border. 30” plants produce voluminous quantities of flowers on strong stems. Pinch back when small to encourage a larger number of long-stemmed flowers. Growing instructions: In warmer climates, plant asters in areas that avoid the hot mid-day sun. Select a site with full to partial sun. Soil should be moist but well-drained, and loamy. Mix compost into the soil prior to planting. While asters can be grown from seed, germination can be uneven. You can start sowing the seeds during September-October in pots or beds. Sow seeds one inch deep. Germination usually takes 2-3 weeks. Aster seedlings are very susceptible to damping off, so provide good ventilation and only water from below. Space or transplant 30-45cm (12-18?) apart.
