About the Author Subrata Sankar Bagchi has been teaching Anthropology in a college in Kolkata for the last 14 years. He has also served as a visiting professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Ottawa in 2008-09. He got his Ph.D. in Anthropology in 2006 from the University of Calcutta. His research life spanned over 18 years and during this period he worked extensively on various topics like research methodology, urban ethnicity, urban social movement, urban poverty, etc. He has published several scholarly articles in different national and international journals.
