About The Author: Eddie James Girdner was inculcated into the idiocy of rural life at an early age in North Missouri. After his Great Escape to the University of Missouri, and a degree in Physics, he served as an American Peace Corps Volunteer in Punjab, India (19681970), then became a sailor in the US Navy for five years. He earned a doctorate degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has taught political science in the United States, Cyprus and Turkey for more than twentyfive years. He is the author of several books, including Killing Me Softly: Toxic Waste, Corporate Profit and the Struggle for Environmental Justice (2003); USA and the New Middle East (2 0 0 8 ) ; S o c i a l i s m , S a r v o d a y a a n d Democracy (2013); and Global Political Economy (2014). He has also written two novels, Sweet Home, Mississippi and The Business Model. He lives in Fethiye and Izmir Turkey.
