The present book edited by Dr. Avishek Adhikari, Professor M.R. Adhikari and  Professor Y.P. Chaubey, is the volume-1 of the series. The main objective of the editorial board of this book (monograph) is to bring applications of mathematics, statistics and closely related areas to the forefront. The present book contains 13 invited articles preselected for publication during the planning of 5th International Conference of the Institute for Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Information Technology and Computer Science held during December 2011 in Kolkata, India. Mathematics, Probability & Statistics and Cryptography were the 3 major areas of the conference.
