This book is about a girl whose soul died long ago with her parents but whose body survived so that she may experience the harsh realities of this world, but if something awful exists, then something good must also exist. Which side of the coin—good or bad—you experience first is up to God. The only thing you could be certain of is that you would go through both. Pain changes people. It makes them trust less, overthink more, and shut people out.
