Written in the years immediately preceding and following the Covid Epidemic (2019-21) these short stories arose from various interwoven contexts of the author’s social and personal life. They are based on partly real, but largely imagined, people known to him. There are hopes, disappointments, cynicisms, humour and melancholia in these stories which underline the impermanence and cruelty of life and the unpredictability of the future. Life is a daily journey between dreams and reality. To dream is human. To grasp the futility of some dreams is also human. Life is about arrival, staying and departure. In the end, memory remains as the residue of transient lives.
