Dalit Panthers History, 2020, J.V. Pawar, Translation Prabhakar Mandara, 252 pages, The Dalit Panther movement had a short life of only five years from 29 May 1972 to be formally disbanded on 7 March 1977. The movement took up vigorously, the atrocities on Dalits and resolved them in the interest of social justice in this brief period of time. An important contribution of the movement was its efforts in retrieving Dr Ambedkar’s writings from oblivion. Many people outside Maharashtra identify the Dalit Panthers through their searing literature.
