Live BUDDHA BELLY Bambusa T. Ventricosa Bamboo Potted Plant *Great For Bonsai Buddha Belly Bamboo is a highly ornamental plant. The resemblance of the swollen stem sections to the bulging belly of Buddha depicted in paintings and sculptures gives rise to the name of this bamboo. With its clean, simple lines, bamboo lends a feeling of peacefulness and simple elegance. This is the only bamboo to thrive indoors. Some forms are dwarf with swollen internodes and used for potted plants, bonsai or small specimens, while others revert to a giant form. This is a very drought hardy as well as wet tolerant plant once established. The giant form is an incredible sight to behold. Huge weeping growth habit requires a large planting area. This plant can quickly become the largest plant mass in a landscape in as few as 5 years under ideal growing conditions! There strong, dried culms are great for furniture, fences, walls, construction, and etc... Unique Growth Habit: The plant stays small and produces swollen internodes when grown in a small container and supplied with little moisture and nutrient. However, when planted out in-ground it will reach up to 16 feet tall in height and 3" inches in diameter, with zig-zagging lower culms (stems).
