Delusion in Death is the 35th instalment of J. D. Robb’s In Death series of murder mystery novels. Summary of the Book Eve Dallas has spent years on the force. She thought she couldn’t be shocked anymore. She was wrong. In what looked like an ordinary bar where people went after work for some fun and drinks, an ordinary bar fight ended in the deaths of eight people. Eve tries to understand what happened. The survivors offer crazy and contradicting statements ranging from monsters to a swarm of bees. They claim they experienced crippling paranoia, fear and rage. Eve thinks they’re lying until the forensic report reveals that the bar patrons were exposed to chemicals and illegal drugs which induced temporary madness, and bore the risk of death. However, who would do such a horrendous thing and why? Eve’s husband Roarke owns the bar, but he’s certain the attack wasn’t aimed at him. It’s something much bigger, and what’s worse: it’s airborne.
