Cassia fistula, commonly known as the Golden Shower Tree or Amaltas, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree from the Fabaceae family. Native to South Asia, this tree is celebrated for its stunning yellow flowers and cultural significance. Widely planted as an ornamental tree, it is also valued for its medicinal properties and role in traditional medicine.The Golden Shower Tree grows to a height of 10–20 meters, with a straight trunk and a spreading, rounded canopy. It features pinnate green leaves and long, pendulous clusters of bright yellow flowers that bloom in late spring to summer. These flowers are followed by cylindrical, dark-brown seed pods that can grow up to 60 cm in length.
