Locho is steamed Gujarati Farsan originated in Surat. It is made from Gram Flour. The dish derives its name from its loose Consistency and irregular shape like dumplings. It is somewhat related to Khaman. Unlike Khaman it is not served in regular shaped cut pieces.Take 1 bowl gram daal & wash it. Keep it in water for 5-6 hours. Take 2 spoon rice poha & wash it with water and keep it aside. After that take the water out and grind the dal along with poha. 2 green chillies, half inch ginger piece & salt as per taste. Mix it well. Take the mixture out in a utensil add 2 spoon oil. Dhanhar Asafoetida, baking soda & turmeric powder & mix it well keep aside the ready mixture of Locha for 3 hours.Put it in mould with layer of oil & keep on gas stove for steaming for 5 minutes. Sprinkle little chilli powder & Dhanhar Surti Locha Masala over it. Your Surti Locha is now ready to serve.
