Sunflower or 'sunflower' (botanical name: Helianthus anus ) is an annual plant native to the Americas . It is grown in the gardens of many countries. It is a member of the genus Helianthus of the Compositae family. About sixty species have been found in this order, including Helianthus annuus, Helianthus decapetalus, Helianthus multiflorus, Helianthus multiflorus, O. aurgalis (H. orggalis), O. atrorubens (H. atrorubens), O. giganteus (H. giganteus) and O. Mollis (H. molis) is the dominant one.
