Javitri" is the Hindi name for the spice known as mace in English. It is derived from the dried aril (a lace-like covering) of the nutmeg seed (Myristica fragrans), which is a tropical evergreen tree native to Indonesia. The nutmeg seed itself is encased in a hard shell, and once the shell is removed, the bright red aril, known as mace, is revealed. This mace is then dried and used as a spice.
