Although bladder problems are common in children, there is very little understanding on its pathophysiology. In this book the authors have clearly explained the basic physiology of bladder function. The pathological abnormalities in bladder dysfunction and neurogenic bladder have been discussed in detail. Urodynamics and uroflowmetry are essential in bladder evaluation and this book acts as a practical guide in lucidly explaining these aspects. Medical management of bladder dysfunction, urotherapy, bowel management and neuromodulation are explained. Interventions like botulinum toxin injection, continent appendico-vesicostomy (Mitrofanoff) and different types of Bladder augmentation have been described with line diagrams. Clean intermittent catheterisation (CIC), advice to prevent complications of bladder augmentation and patient information sheets on bladder diary, bowel and bladder management are provided at the end. Youtube links of essential bladder augmentation techniques by the authors have been provided at the end. This book will be useful for young pediatric urologists who are keen to learn medical and surgical management of dysfunctional and neurogenic bladder in children.
