Litchi (Litchi chinensis) belongs to the family of Sapindaceae. The plant is a dense, symmetrical, evergreen tree with a dark brown trunk. The tree has erect or drooping branches, depending on the cultivar. The plant can live for many years, and grows to 6–12 m in height.
