The concept of national security has been changed among the nation-states in the 21st century. After the end of the Cold war, the concept of security was shifted from the traditional approach to a non-traditional approach. In the present century, security is widely understood to include non-military dimensions including ecological security, economic security, food security, cyber security etc. which are people-centric. In the contemporary world among non-traditional security, ecological security is one of the most prominent issues. Climate change affects the ecosystem and people of the entire world, but the impacts of climate change are faced more severely by the small states of the world. Climate-related issues of Maldives and Bhutan have examined in this book as well as the manners in which they attempt to influence the global community on the decisions related to combating climate change.
