Two teenagers with their own worlds of problems find comfort in each others’ arms over video games, comic books and all the joys and sorrows of adolescence. Rainbow Rowell reminds readers what it means to be star-crossed teenage lovers in Eleanor and Park. Summary of the Book Eleanor Douglas can’t seem to get enough to Park Sheridan. The red-haired girl has fallen for this misfit, which is all right since she’s sort of a misfit herself. They find each other through their love for comic books and mixed tapes on the school bus. Park seems to be just the guy for her. He laughs at her jokes before she has a chance to finish them, he knows what song to play for her, he knows her better than anyone. Park has no doubt that Eleanor is the right girl for him either, she’s always there, right behind him, beside him, making the entire world seem boring by comparison. In one school year, these teenagers discover each other, discover love, one that is too tender and innocent to last, yet beautiful enough to remember a lifetime.
